The real agent in the Simulator

In test mode you play the agent by hand. To talk to the real one, opt in on its binding:

agents: {
  assistant: agent('agt_live', { tools: ['lookup_order', 'transfer'], testBranch: true }),
}
  • Deploying to test keeps an hcc-test branch of that agent on its platform. It follows main's prompt, takes no live traffic, and calls your tools through the browser session, so they run on your flow as they would on a call. Main isn't touched. Once the branch has synced, the agent joins by itself in the Simulator when your flow connects it.
  • This is the one thing we write to your agent besides our own tools, and only because the flow asks for it. Removing testBranch archives the branch. Live calls ignore the option.
  • The session uses your microphone and your platform's usage, and starts only on an explicit click. It's not on /v1/simulator.
  • The branch needs the agent to have versions, and tools you added yourself on the platform come along and really fire in a session. The panel lists them.
  • A platform-native transfer_to_number can't work in a browser session, so a deploy warns about it. Use a flow tool that returns handoff, and transfer from the flow.
  • Other platforms keep the hand-played panel, and the deploy warns.
